Biography:

Born into the picturesque artist and fishing community of Homer, Alaska, I spent a very conservative Christian upbringing creating, dreaming and exploring ways to express the deep inner passions, fears and emotions that drove me. After high school I moved up in the world – 600 miles north, to be specific – spending 14 years in the particularly frosty Fairbanks, Alaska where I received a bachelor's degree in piano performance. In addition to performing, teaching and directing musical groups, I delved into the visual arts through digital art and photography. These mediums became my primary means of expressing the struggles and pains I experienced fully immersed in a religion that forced me to suppress the very core of my being, suffering a warped abusive affair at the hands a 'spiritual leader,' and spending far too many years in a marriage where I tried to carve myself into the role of a "normal" heterosexual man. I finally found the courage to walk away from an entire lifetime of lies in 2004. I left Alaska in 2005 to begin a new life in San Francisco. I came to the city to explore the freedom of self-acceptance, the richness of gay community, to discover new opportunities, warmer climates and exciting adventures. The city has not failed to deliver. These years have been the richest, most exciting and intensely rewarding years of my life. I embrace every moment of this new life, unashamedly celebrating my sexuality, deeply appreciating my relationships and boldly expressing the complexity of my emotional/psychological/sexual journey through my art.
